Accessibility

This website is intended to be accessible to everyone, regardless of technology, abilities, or language. We are issuing this statement voluntarily. As a private campaign website, we are not subject to the obligations of public agencies. Nevertheless, this issue is important to us.

Our Mission

We adhere to the recognized standards for accessible websites (WCAG 2.1, Target Level AA). We continuously review the site and make improvements where necessary.

What the Site Offers

To ensure that everyone can easily access the content, we have implemented the following measures, among others:

  • A dedicated accessibility menu with three font sizes, a contrast mode, reduced animations, and underlined links.
  • A clear, semantic structure consisting of headings, sections, and labels, accessible via keyboard and screen reader.
  • Meaningful alternative text for images and sufficient color contrast.
  • A layout for cell phones, tablets, and computers that respects your system settings for fonts and motion.
  • Content in eleven languages, so that everyone can participate—even if German isn't their native language.

Known Limits

We cannot always ensure that content uploaded by citizens to Bürgervotum—such as photos, videos, or voice messages—is fully accessible. We have no control over linked third-party content. We are continuing to work on addressing these gaps.
