Family, Children & Education

As a mother of two, I know what everyday life is really like for families. Childcare has to be reliable, otherwise work and family life come into conflict.

The problem

Opening hours often do not fit in with shift work. And as child numbers fall, it is important to ensure there are centres across the area so that no family has to travel long distances to access childcare. At the same time, every business in the city is looking for skilled staff. The best ones are those who grow up here, study here and stay here.

Here’s exactly how I do it

  • Ensure reliable, local care and plan care provision and building land together.
  • To reliably implement the new entitlement to all-day schooling from the 2026/27 school year onwards, with timetables that also accommodate shift work.
  • Bring schools and businesses closer together, through work placements and on-the-job training.
  • Expand vocational training and dual study programmes in collaboration with Campus Papenburg.
  • Take young people seriously; let them have their say when it comes to their local areas and the services on offer.

Become a game-changer.

Together, we’ll turn these plans into reality.
